Raising Successful Children: Heading Over To the 2013 Gator National World Karate Championships to See Hundreds of Happy Kids Display Their Amazing Martial Arts Abilities.

May 17, 2013 at 8:25 AM

Good morning.

I’m getting ready to head on over to Daytona Beach, Florida for the 2013 Gator National World Karate Championships …or Gators as we call it.

The Gators is one of the most popular NASKA …North American Sport Karate Association …martial arts tournaments in the country.

Martial artists from all over take the opportunity to attend …both for the level of competition and the ability to relax and vacation in the Daytona Beach resort area.

The Gators is also one of my favorite martial arts tournaments …as Charlie Lane and his family always do a great job in putting the tournament together.

It’s an opportunity to watch awesome kids …young martial artists …display some amazing talent.

The adult competitors (18 years and older) are also incredible to see …but, I think by now, you know that I really enjoy seeing successful children.

I believe the expression, “the children are our future”, is very evident when it comes to sports.

The happy kids competing in the youth divisions are going to grow up to be our adult superstars.

In my almost 40 years of martial arts, I have had the opportunity to train the children of former child students.

It’s really something to watch “your kids” grow up into successful adults.

I can’t wait to see how far they’ve come this time!

The other thing you have probably learned about me  (if you have been following my blog posts)  is that I am a “beach person”.

daytona beach resort naskaOne of the side benefits of the Gators is that you can go to the beach …the ”world famous Daytona Beach” …in between the morning and evening events.

The competitors are given the afternoon off …to rest …relax …practice …or explore the surrounding area.

The beach is only 1 block away …so you know where I’ll be going!

One of my personal keys to success for enjoying life is to “live in the moment”

…to enjoy what you are doing while you are doing it.

So …just like my daughter’s visit last month, there won’t be any posts until I get back home Sunday night.

I promise to share a few photos.

Talk with you in a couple of days.

Enjoy your weekend,

Doug
